Carol E. (DiMeo) Phelps, age 71, of Wilmington, NC formerly of Brockton, died October 2, 2016. Carol was the wife of the late Ronald P. Phelps. Born and raised in Brockton, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Ernestine (Wright) DiMeo. Carol was a 1963 graduate of Brockton High School and had been employed at Nutramax, Barbour Corporation, the town of West Bridgewater and Knapp Shoe. She was also a waitress at the Capeway Manor and Red Coach Grill.
Carol loved cooking, especially Italian and Sunday dinners. She enjoyed Elvis, country music, casino trips, and watching Papa’s beloved Patriots. She would welcome everyone into her home as family, and was Nana to many.
Carol was the sister of Antoinette Rando, Judith and Lori DiMeo and the late Dominic DiMeo, Jr. She was the mother of Kathleen Smith of North Carolina, Karen Phelps of Fall River and the late Kimberly Bater. She was the grandmother of Toni Boyce, Christa Proctor, Breanna Eastwood, William Bater Jr. and Nathaniel Bater and great grandmother of six. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Tuesday 10-11am with a funeral service at 11am. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the family to help with funeral expenses.
