Thomas J. Manning of Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury went home to God on Friday October 7, 2016, surrounded by family. Beloved son of the late Bartholomew and Nora (Hogan) Manning. Devoted brother of the late Anna Mannion and Mary Hommel both formerly of Jamaica Plain and the late James Manning formerly of Hyde Park. Loving uncle to Richard Hommel and his wife Janet of South Carolina, formerly of Norfolk and Mayanne Speicher and her husband Greg of Ayer. He is survived by several nieces and nephews as well as numerous cherished friends. Tom graduated from Jamaica Plain High School and Bently College. He served in the US Army and made his career as Assistant Vice President at State Street Bank Boston. An ardent lifetime supporter and Eucharistic Minister of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Tom was the nicest man you would ever hope to meet and was always ready to help someone in need. Visiting hours at the Brady & Fallon Funeral Home 10 Tower St. (Opp. Forest Hills MBTA Station) Jamaica Plain on Tuesday October 11 from 1-3 pm & 5-7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Jamaica Plain on Wednesday October 12 at 10 am. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment New Calvary Cemetery.
