Joan A. Miller, 78, of Windham, NH passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Parkland Medical Center, after a two year battle with cancer. She was born May 14, 1938 in Lawrence, MA and was a daughter of the late Henry and Irene (Champagne) Morin. Joan was raised and educated in the Lawrence/Andover area and had been a resident of Windham for over 50 years.
Joan was employed as a Paralegal over the course of her working life and had retired from the Devine-Millimet law firm. She loved gardening and spent many hours planning and planting in her yard. In addition she was an avid animal lover, especially missing her beloved dog Max.
Members of the family include her three daughters, Phyllis Miller and Richard Roy, Cindy Miller and Brenda Beaulieu and Wendy and Thomas Polk, three grandchildren, Kara, Joshua and Michaela, three sisters, Susan O’Connell, Marcelle Goulet and Elaine Michaud. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Richard A. Miller in 2012.
After cremation, an hour of visitation will be held from 9 to 10 am, Tuesday October 11, 2016 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry, NH. A memorial service will follow at 10 am. She will be buried next to her husband at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
