Frances M. Marquis, 90, of Goffstown, NH, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Friday September 30, 2016, in Hillsborough County Nursing Home, Goffstown. She was born in Manchester, NH on July 18, 1926, a daughter of Charles and Beatrice (Gionet) Johns. Mrs. Marquis grew up in Derry, NH, graduated from Pinkerton Academy in 1945 and went on to Nursing School. She worked as a registered nurse at Nashua Memorial and Hillsborough County Nursing Home for 14 years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed needlework, knitting and keeping up with current events.
She is survived by one son, Gregory Marquis of Londonderry, NH; two daughters, Pamela Johnson and husband Peter of Wolfeboro, NH and Melanie Liebenow and husband Thomas of Hampton, NH; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well as her brother Charles Johns of Hudson, NH. She was predeceased by her husband Maurice Marquis in 1976 as well as her son and daughter-in-law Brian and Wendy Marquis.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 9am to 11am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services followed at 11:00am in the funeral home.
