Laconia----Donald Lee McFarland, 83, long time resident of Laconia, died Monday, September 26, 2016 at Lakes Region General Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Donald was born September 1, 1933 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, son to the late Norman and Jeanette (McConnell) McFarland. His career as a banker spanned sixty years with Indian Head Bank until his retirement. Donald was also involved in the Belknap Mill Society, Rotary International, the United Way, and Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Donald was a computer hobbyist. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carol L (Campbell) McFarland of Laconia, his three sons, Donald McFarland Jr. of Nashua, Daniel McFarland of Marlborough, MA, and Norman McFarland of West Haven, CT; daughter-in-laws Peggy McFarland of Nashua and Christina McFarland of West Haven, CT; grandchildren, Cole, Jared, Graham, Sophie and Emma; his sister, Kay Ann Robertson of Massillon, OH; nieces Katie Robertson of Massillon, OH and Beth Ann Cohen of New Castle, PA; nephews David Cohen of New Castle, PA and Robert "Bobby" Campbell of New Wilmington, PA; and his brother-in-law, Robert Campbell of New Wilmington, PA. He is predeceased by his parents.
There will be no calling hours or funeral.
