Miss Rita R. Menard, formerly of Taunton, died Friday, September 23 in Island Terrace, Lakeville following a brief illness. She was born 77 years ago in Taunton,
the daughter of the late Francis A. and Marie E.R. (Dansereau) Menard. She was educated in Taunton and had been acity resident for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, Rita had been employed as a hairdresser for the former Stone’s Beauty Parlor and the former Beauty Land in Taunton for many years. She was previously employed at Ad-A-Day Corporation and at the former Whittenton Garment Company. Rita enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Taunton.
She leaves: 2 brothers: Paul Menard of Taunton, and David R. Menard and his wife, Kathleen of Whitman; 2 sisters: Elaine Anne Smith and her husband, John of E. Taunton, and Lois Marie Crovello and her husband, Michael of Florida; her Godchildren: Lisa M. Smith and Karen Thurber, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Tuesday, September 27 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
