TAUNTON – John R. Monti, husband of the late Anna Marion (Lindsteadt) Monti, died at home on Sept. 16, 2016. He was 91.
Born in Quincy, he was the son of the late John and Alice (Bizzaro) Monti.
Mr. Monti served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II as a Seaman First Class. He worked as a switchman for the telephone company and a member of the V.F.W. of Randolph. He enjoyed fishing and spending time in his cottage in Plymouth.
Survivors include four daughters, Jill Monti and Gail O’Sullivan, both of Taunton, Laureen Greeley of Middleboro and Karen Trischitta of Plymouth; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was also father to the late Donna Dooley and brother to the late Dorothy Jennings and Josephine Gandolphi.
His funeral service will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, Sept. 24th at 11 a.m. Burial will be at private.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to his funeral service.
