Maria Milagros Freda, 57, of Medford, MA, passed away Friday, September 9th at the Winchester Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Havana, Cuba, she was the daughter of the late Jose A. and Aida Diaz.
Maria was a graduate of Tufts University in 1979 with a degree in Sociology. Shortly after she went back to school and attended Northeastern University and received a degree in Business Administration and continued her education at Cambridge College obtaining her M.Ed in Administration and Management. Maria worked as a licensed social worker for Children and Youth and Families from 1978 to 1982. She was the Community Action Programs Head Start and Children Development Center Director from 1981 to 1985, then served as the administrative services/contract manager for the department of Social Services for the Commonwealth of Mass from 1984 to 1989.
After her successful career as a social worker Maria became a licensed real-estate agent in 1985 where she received many awards throughout her career. She received Century 21 top producer award since 1993, century 21 quality service producer since 1999, Century 21 Double Centurion award in 2000,2001,2004 and in 2005, Century 21 Triple Centurion award 2002, 2004. She was also the second Century 21 real estate broker in New England from 2000 to 2005. Maria won an award for the top real-estate broker in Northern Council from 2000 to 2005 and also the top real estate broker in New England in 2002 and also in 2007. Maria was very proud of all the awards she had received throughout the years.
Maria was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
She was the beloved wife of Rick Freda of Medford. She was the loving mother of Richard, Nicholas and Michael Freda all of Medford and her loving service dog Sonny.
