Obituary

Eva Carpentier 97, formerly of 547 Clinton St. Woonsocket died Monday in St Antoine Residence in N. Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Leopold Carpentier. Mrs. Carpentier was born in St. Aimee PQ Canada a daughter of the late Hilaire and Hermina (Gaudette) Laplante. Mrs Carpentier worked in the combing department of the French Worsted Co. for fourteen years retiring in 1970. She had also worked in several other area mills. She was a member of the Kennedy Manor Club, the St. Louis, St Joseph and St. Agatha’s Senior Citizens and the Ladies Guild at St. Ann’s Parish.

Mrs. Carpentier is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Philippe Laplante, Joseph Laplante, Yvonne Laplante, Irene Dufault and Elizabeth Brouillard.

Her funeral will be held Friday at 10:00 from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 in All Saints Church Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will be in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday 6-8 pm.
