Elia deSao Jose Aguiar (Reis) Silva, 60, died at her home in Stoughton under the care of Hospice of Greater Brockton on Friday, July 29 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of Leonardo Silva. Born in Guadalupe, Azores, Portugal, she was raised there and a graduate of Azores Schools. She moved to Stoughton in 1969. She worked as an inspector for Datel in Mansfield for many years. In her free time she enjoyed crafts and sewing.
In addition to her husband Leonardo, she is survived by her children, Diane Noonan, Gene Silva and Danny Silva all of Stoughton. She was the sister of Manuel Reis, Gilbert Reis, Eugenio Reis and Nizelda Picanco all of Stoughton. Mrs. Silva is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her grandchildren Jay Noonan Jr. and Melissa Noonan.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, August 2 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:15 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 5-8 PM. Donations in Elia’s name may be made to the Hospice of Greater Brockton, 500 Belmont St., Brockton, 02301. Burial will be Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
