Walter F. Donahue, age 67, died on Tuesday May 21, 2002 at the Winchester Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Cambridge on February 5, 1935 to the late John and Margaret (McCarthy) Donahue.
Walter was educated at the Cambridge Rindge & Latin School then continuing on to Northeastern, Class of 1964.
He enlisted in the Army during the Korean War, while at war he married his beloved wife, the late Lorraine Ann Abitabile on July 27, 1955 in Germany.
He was a resident of Medford for over 50 years as well as a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Medford.
He was employed as a director of the Globe Foundation for the Boston Globe for 28 years until his retirement. His passion for life was evident when spending time with family, friends, and playing golf; he will be sorely missed. In his spare time, he also enjoyed cooking.
He is the beloved husband of the late Lorraine Ann (Abitabile) Donahue. Loving father of Lynne A. and her husband Dennis M. Cresta of Billerica and Barry F. Donahue of Malden. Cherished grandfather of Michael F., Lindsay A. , and Katie A. Cresta.

Funeral from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Saturday at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Joseph's Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours, Friday from 4- 8 p.m. Interment, Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
