Angelo Pilla, a longtime resident of Medford, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2016. He was 84 years old.
Angelo was born and raised in Saint Diago, Italy, where he served in the Italian Military and traveled throughout Europe. He moved to America in March of 1970 with his family and worked numerous jobs throughout his life. Angelo was an avid animal lover and truly cherished his grandchildren.
Angelo was the devoted husband of 59 years to Iolanda (Coviello) Pilla. He was the beloved father of Joseph Pilla and his wife Karla of Hampstead, NH and their children Gina, Julia and Phillip. Maria Pilla-Cote of Salem, NH and her child Ryan. Doriana Pilla Aronson and her husband James T. of Tewksbury and their children Victoria, James, Monica and Richard. Angela Spadafora and her husband John Jr. of Malden and their children Jessica and John III. Anna Pilla-Donovan and her husband James of Medford and their children Sarah Rose and Stephen, and Lisa Pilla of Medford and her children Gianna and Ava. Cherished great grandfather of Aliana Calla Reihl. Dear brother of Phyllis LaVerde of Billerica.
The funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home 865 Main Street, Malden on Friday September 9th at 9:00a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 10:00a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-9p.m. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
