Obituary

BEVERLY: Kathleen Anne (O’Reilly) McGinn, died Monday, August 29, 2016 in the Beverly Hospital following a long illness. She was the wife of James Marshall McGinn.

Kathleen was the daughter of the late Thomas and Pearl (Boisseau) O’Reilly. She received her BA degree in English Literature from Anna Maria College, Paxton, MA in 1964 and her MA degree in Shakespearean Literature from the University of Bridgeport, Ct in 1968. After moving to CT in 1967, she provided the copy for Ethan Allen Furniture’s (Danbury, CT) print advertising. A move to New Jersey in 1976 resulted in a new approach for her as a free lance copywriter. She provided copy for a number of publishing houses in New York and the area. She maintained her free lance status upon her return to the Boston area in 1989. Kathleen very much enjoyed socializing with family and friends. She was articulate, insightful and always humorous.

In addition to her husband of forty-nine years, she is survived by her son, Matthew McGinn; her sister, Dorothy Stankus and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also predeceased by her son, Michael, her sister, Blanche Wicks and her husband, Lester and a nephew, James Stankus.
