
SUDBURY: Professor Emeritus Gail B. Poch, 80, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 following a period of declining health. He was born in Atlantic, Iowa on August 4, 1936 the son of the late Louie B. Poch and Lela Mae (McDermott) Poch.
Professor Poch is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy F. Poch of Sudbury, and sister Ellen Jane Buckner of Murfreesboro, TN. Father to Eric D. Poch and his wife Mylene M. Poch of Sudbury and Kurt A. Poch of Philadelphia, PA. Grandfather to Geneva Mae Poch; Amelia Jane Poch and Lorelei Kier Poch and step-grandfather to Marcus R. Cassel and Mason S. Cassel.
Prior to moving to Sudbury, Gail and Nancy resided in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He retired after a long and distinguished career in teaching and a 20 year association as conductor of the Reading Choral Society, including 33 years at Temple University’s Esther Boyer College of Music in Philadelphia. Gail loved his family and most enjoyed being “Opa” to his grandchildren.
Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date and place to be announced.
