Lillie Mae Thompson Mitson, 95, of Bartow, Florida passed away Monday, August 29, 2016. A Celebration of Her Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Turning Point Worship Center in Bartow, Florida. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Mitson at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2016 at Zion Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at Turning Point Worship Center,1410 E Georgia St. in Bartow, Florida.
Mrs. Mitson was born September 16, 1920 in Homer. She was a homemaker and an avid gardener. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Truman Thompson, Sr. and Chester Mitson; three sons, Ronnie Thompson, Donnie Thompson and Rodney Thompson, Sr.; and a daughter, Shirley Thompson Sowell.
Lillie Mae is survived by a four sons and three daughters-in-law, Derwood and Nancy Thompson of Gainesville, Florida, William "Bill" Thompson of Costa Rica, Truman Jr. and Nancy Thompson of Fernandina Beach, Florida and John M. and Donna Thompson of Ellaville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Allen Spinks of Lakeland, Florida, Kathy and John Berry of Bartow, Florida and Betty and Jimmy Vickers of Winter Haven, Florida: a sister, Susie Dyal of Auburndale, Florida; and numerous grandchildren.
