WORCESTER-Rose D. (Janowski) Ranch, 88, of 6 Knox Street died Thursday, May 23rd in St. Vincent Hospital-Worcester Medical Center after being stricken ill. Her husband, John J. Ranch died in 1964. She leaves a son, David J. Ranch of Worcester; 2 daughters, Susan A. Sissenstein and Francine R. Hunke both of Anza, California; a grandson, John Trainor of Torrance, CA; many nephews and nieces. 2 brothers, Chester and Leonard Janowski and a sister, Irene Dostoler predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Chester and Frances (Pajka) Janowski and has lived here all of her life. Mrs. Ranch graduated from Commerce High School. She worked as a loan officer for Central One Credit Union, retiring in 1979. She previously was employed by the former White House Restaurant as a hostess and Melville Shoe Company as a comptroller operator. She was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. Mrs. Ranch enjoyed knitting and reading.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, May 28th from O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Monday, May 27th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of ones choice.
