Josephine A. (Walsh) Wall, 76, of New Bedford died Wednesday May 22, 2002 at Country Gardens Skilled Nursing & Rehabiliation Center in Swansea. She was the daughter of the late Capt. Joseph S. and Angela (McGrath) Walsh.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in New Bedford, she lived in Westport, Conn., for many years before returning to live in New Bedford in 1981.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in New Bedford.
Mrs. Wall was formerly employed as a secretary at the Town Hall in Westport, Conn.
Survivors include a daughter Nance Brock of Dalton, Georgia; a son, Peter Wall; 2 brothers, Thomas P. Walsh and Ronald J. Walsh, both of New Bedford; 5 sisters, Florence Richardson of Falmouth, Mary R. Jardin of New Bedford, Nancy Bennett and Patricia Crabbe, both of Fairhaven, and Helen Monize of New Jersey; 4 grandchildren, Shaun Bath, Kelly Garland, Donald Wall and Caitlen Wall; a great-grandson, Caleb Garland; and several nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Donald J. Walsh and Joseph R. Walsh.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday May 25, 2002 at 9 AM in St. Mary's Church, Tarkiln Hill Road, New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
