Lawrence – Mary K. (Cahill) Moore, 89 of Lawrence, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Care Center in Lawrence. Her family was very proud of her recent 89th birthday as well as being able to celebrate it with her. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Edward M. Moore, D.C.
Born in Framingham, MA on August 22, 1927, Mary was the daughter of James J. and Annie (Callahan) Cahill. She attended Framingham schools and graduated from Framingham High School, class of 1944. She graduated from the Carney Hospital School of Nursing in 1948 and received her BS in psychology from New England College in Henniker, NH in 1986. She proudly served her country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. She worked as a registered nurse at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen for over 26 years until her retirement. Mary was a communicant of St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen. She was also a member of the American Legion, Post 122 in Methuen, Cedardale Health Club in Haverhill.
Mary will be deeply missed by her 3 daughters, Mary Ellen Moore, D.C. of Methuen, Ann K. Perry and her husband, Scott Perry of North Ft. Myers, FL, and Lori J. Corey, R.N. and her husband, Fred A. Corey, P.E. of Methuen; 2 sons, Brian E. Moore, M.D. and his wife, Jennifer Lee, M.D. of Centennial, CO and Kevin J. Orth and his husband, Patrick Orth of Seattle, WA; and 9 grandchildren, Peter, and his wife, Kate, Lauren, Jenna, Fred, Christina, Kristen, Liam, Ava, and Gronk.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Mary’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 from 4-8 PM. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen on Wednesday at 9 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary/Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
