Roland Marquis 88, of Mendon Rd. died Tuesday at the Friendly Home. He was the husband of Yvonne (St. Gelais) Marquis. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late William and Cecile (Blanchard) Marquis. Roland was the owner operator of the former Dun Rite Cleaners and Tux House for thirty years before retiring twenty five years ago. He was a member of Club Marquette, and was an avid card player and bowler.
Besides his wife he leaves three sons, Lionel Marquis of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Paul Marquis of N. Kingstown, and Ronald R. Marquis of Uxbridge, two sisters Jeannette Godbout of Middletown, and Susan Wojicki of North Smithfield, and a granddaughter Lindsey Johnson of Attleboro. He was also the father of the late Ronald W. Marquis and brother of the late Rene Marquis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. The family will receive guest beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial at a later date will be private. In lieu of flowers donations to the activities department at Friendly Home, 303 Rhodes Ave. Woonsocket, RI 02895 in his memory would be appreciated.
