Marrilou Leonard, 45, died at Wednesday at her home in Fall River. She was the daughter of Roy F. and Theresa M. (Angelos) Leonard of Stoughton. Born in Brockton, she was a longtime resident of Fall River and Stoughton. She was a graduate of Worcester High School. Born with Spina Bifida, Miss Leonard was active in the community and worked as a Volunteer at the St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River. She recently received an award for 10000 hours of volunteer work. She was formerly active in the Salvation Army. She was an advocate for people with disabilities. In her free time, she enjoyed cats and watching Fall River Little League Baseball.
In addition to her parents, Roy and Theresa, she is survived by her siblings: Donna J. Holt and her husband Richard of Middleboro, James M. Leonard and his wife Melissa J. of Stoughton and Richard Leonard and his wife Joan E. of Taunton. She is also survived by several aunts & uncles and several special friends in Fall River.
Funeral services will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, July 30 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8 PM. Donations in Marrilou’s name may be made to the Spina Bifida Association of America, 4590 MacArthur Blvd., Ste. 250, Washington, DC 20007. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
