Shirley Ann (McNally) McGinty, R.N., 90, of Bradenton, FL and formerly of Andover, MA passed away on August 21, 2016 at home surrounded by family after a long illness.
Shirley was born in Lawrence, MA on September 22, 1925 to Ann (Keefe) and William A. McNally. She was educated in the Lawrence school system, graduated from Lawrence High School in 1942 and St. John’s School of Nursing, Lowell, MA in 1946.
Shirley spent many happy childhood summers in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. She served as a nurse at the Lawrence General Hospital and as an office nurse for many years before she became the loving wife of John Francis McGinty, MD of Andover, MA who died in 1973. She enjoyed playing golf as a member of Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover. Shirley was a member of the Holy Family Ladies Auxiliary and was also a member of the Andover Garden Club.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Patty McGinty Zittel (Steve) of Bradenton, FL, Ann McGinty Dubrule of Asheville, NC, and Jacqueline Frances McGinty (Donald Smith) of Charleston, SC and grandchildren, Jessie L. McGinty, Katherine L. Dubrule and Michael A. Dubrule and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Mary J. O’Reilly of Andover, MA as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral Mass will be held on Sat August 27, 2016 at St. Augustine’s Church, Andover, MA at noon with burial following at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, North Andover, MA.
