SWANSEA – William Medeiros (Bill) (Billy) died Saturday evening at Charlton Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was married for 50 years to the late Isabel (Braga) Medeiros, the love of his life. He was a resident of Swansea, MA. He was born on July 2, 1929 in Capelas, Azores, son of the late Joseph and Maria (Roque) Pacheco Medeiros.
He became a Naturalized Citizen in 1960. He worked for many years in the Textile Industry before becoming a Construction Worker for Cardi Corporation of Rhode Island until he retired in early 1979. He was an avid fisherman and gardener enjoying the sport with his brothers and friends. Bill was a great cook too.
He is survived by a step-daughter, Izaltina DelValle of Tiverton, RI and three step-sons, Thomas Medeiros, Joseph and his wife Vilma Medeiros, and David and his wife Germaine Medeiros all of Fall River. He is also survived
By two sisters, three brothers, several step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great and great-great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael’s Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
