Obituary

Sharon K. McLaughlin-Uiterwijk, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life unexpectedly on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 45 years old.

Sharon was born in Boston on March 18, 1971, a daughter of Theresa N. (Coleman) McLaughlin and Thomas P. McLaughlin. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at Immaculate Conception Parochial School in Everett and graduated from Pope John High School in Everett in 1989. Sharon furthered her education and graduated Magna Cum Laude where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Northeastern University in 2006. Sharon worked as a Manager for a Law Firm in Boston for over 10 years and was recently working as a Accountant and Bookkeeper for several companies in the surrounding communities. Sharon was an animal lover who also enjoyed doing crafts and drawing and found great enjoyment doing anything with her hands especially with antique furniture. She enjoyed dancing and listening to music while on her special rides along the shoreline of the North Shore of Massachusetts beaches with her husband Mike especially Marblehead Neck. She also enjoyed the special visits to her family in New Hampshire.

Sharon is the beloved wife of 5 years to Michael A. Uiterwijk. She is the loving daughter of Theresa N. (Coleman) McLaughlin and the late Thomas P. McLaughlin. She is the beloved step-mother of Danielle Acevedo and her husband Jonathan. She is the loving Nana to Jonathan and Ethan. She is the devoted sister of Patrick McLaughlin and his wife Tricia, Mary Donovan and her husband Kevin, Terry Haines and her husband Jim, Thomas P. McLaughlin Jr. and Sheila O'Neil and her husband Kevin. She is also lovingly survived by her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Sharon's Funeral on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Her burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Her visiting hours will be on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
