Gilmanton- Roderick E. “Rod” Mitchell, 76, passed away suddenly, Friday, August 5, 2016 at his home in Gilmanton.
Rod was born on April 28, 1940 in Woodsville, the son of the late John Mitchell and Rita Santy. Rod worked as an equipment operator for Witkin Construction for many years until his retirement. He loved to garden and watch the wildlife in his backyard. Rod also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his chocolate lab ojm.
Rod is survived by two step children, Dottie and Jim, a daughter-in-law, Shirley Seraiva of Gilmanton, a step son, Jimmy of Pennsylvania, a sister Dottie, a sister Rachel Santy of Orford, and his aunt Edith of Lisbon and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and a step son David.
There will be no calling hours or funeral.
