Obituary

WORCESTER____Edward J. Ledoux, 83, of 34 Dallas St., died Sunday July 24 in Saint Francis Home.

He leaves his wife of 62 years, Lucille E. (Lamoureux) Ledoux, a daughter, Dianne J. Mercadante of Worcester; a sister, Jeannette Lamoureux of Worcester; two grandsons, Michael Mercadante of Gardner and Adam Mercadante of Chicago; two great-grandsons, Vincent and Anthony Mercadante of Chicago and nephews and nieces. A son, Robert E. Ledoux died in 2001. He was born in Worcester, son of Victor and Emma (Pelletier) Ledoux and lived here all his life.

Mr. Ledoux was a supervisor for Norton Co. and Warner & Swasey Co. and worked 42 years before retiring in 1982. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. Edward graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the Norton Foreman’s Club and 25 Year Club. In his retirement he was interested in woodworking and crafts.

The funeral will be held on Friday July 29 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 35 Hamilton St., his nephew, the Rev. Richard Lamoureux, a.a., Superior General of the Augustinians of the Assumption will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday July 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church Building Fund, 5 Whitman Rd., Worcester, 01609 or to the Assumptionists, in memory of Edward J.Ledoux, 330 Market St., Brighton, MA, 02135.
