Lionel T. Plouffe 92, of Orchard St. died August 7, 2016 at Overlook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the beloved husband of Laurianne (Charpentier) Plouffe. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Telesphore and Aurore (Marquis) Plouffe. Mr. Plouffe served in the US Navy during WWII. He was an electrical engineer and worked for Narraganset Electric for forty years before his retirement. He enjoyed playing golf, going to the beach, traveling and camping.
Besides his wife he leaves four sons, Dennis L. Plouffe of Cumberland, Michael L. Plouffe of Coventry, Jeffrey M. Plouffe of Dallas, TX, and Kevin M. Plouffe of Mapleville, a daughter Pauline C. Fiore of Greenville, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was also the brother of the late Armand Plouffe.
His funeral will be held Friday at 9:00 a.m. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial with Military Honors will be held in St Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-7 p.m.
