Devoted father of Patrick Gallivan and his wife Leah of Milton, Joseph Gallivan and his wife Cathy of Dedham, Mary Kate Haswell and her husband Joseph of Walpole. Loving grandfather of James, Jack, Mary Alice and Brianna Gallivan, Jullian, Molly, and Joanna Haswell. Brother of Edward Gallivan of Yarmouthport, Charles Gallivan of Dedham, Marion Gallivan & Patricia Cronin both of Walpole.

Late WW II Veteran US Coast Guard. Graduate of Hyde Park High School, Boston College Class of 1950. Served on the USS General MC Meigs. He was the former Chief of the engineering standardization division of the Army Research Center, Watertown Arsenal where he was recognized by the Pentagon for his work with metals and received a life time achievement award. Mr. Gallivan played Semi-Pro baseball and basketball and coached youth sports for three generations.
