Shirley E. Pivovar, 95, of Windham, NH, passed away peacefully Friday, August 5, 2016, at Warde Health Center in Windham, NH. She was born in Haverhill, MA on February 24, 1921, a daughter of the late Eli and Elizabeth (Lamson) Goddard. Shirley and her husband Frank built the Windham Motel in 1961 and operated it together until Frank passed away in 1987. She was active in the Derry-Salem Emblem Club and the Windham Senior Citizen. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her daughter, Judith Follansbee and her partner Michael Pietro of Ocala, FL, her grandson, Michael Follansbee and his partner Christopher Morrissey of Boston, MA, one nephew, Jack Pivovar, and three nieces, Jennifer Pivovar, Nancy Desrochers, and Sandy Harville. She is predeceased by her husband Frank J. Pivovar in 1987 and her son, Frank “Rudy” Pivovar.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:00am in the Chapel at Warde Health Center, 21 Searles Rd., Windham. Interment with her husband at Cemetery on the Hill in Windham will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Feline Friends, PO Box 2542, Salem, NH 03079.
