Claire V. Ojerholm, 83, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2016. Claire was born in Brooklyn, NY to Ward and Alexandra (Abisamra) Abbott. She grew up in Worcester, graduated from Commerce High School and worked as a legal secretary for many years. Claire and her husband, Allan H. Ojerholm, whom she married in 1955, moved to Grafton and raised three sons: Raymond (Karen) Ojerholm of Pittsburgh, PA; David (Darlene) Ojerholm of Worcester; and Charles Ojerholm of New York, NY. Claire was an excellent housekeeper and cook and enjoyed entertaining. Rarely idle, Claire filled spare moments with quilting and needlework. She exercised five days a week, enjoyed her bridge and garden clubs, and regularly attended Belmont Street Baptist Church, where she was a lifelong member. A loving grandmother to six grandchildren, Claire faithfully attended their special events and took each one individually to Disney World. Claire and Al enjoyed hosting their extended family at Squam Lake each summer so everyone could be together. A thoughtful listener with a good sense of humor, Claire was a loyal friend and family member. In addition to her husband, sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren, Claire is survived by her siblings, Ray (Mary) Abbott and Gladys Abbott; as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. A private service to celebrate Claire’s life was held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel. The family is grateful to all who helped care for Claire during her last year, especially her sister, Gladys Abbott, and cousin, Edith Nachajko, who visited her daily.
