Therese N.(Scullian) Bedard of Bayou Drive in Greenville died peacefully Friday at her home, surrounding by her loving children. She was the wife of the late Clifford E. Bedard, and a resident of Greenville for the past 42 years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Daniel A. and Albertine E. (Lescault) Scullian. She had graduated from Salve Regina College with a degree in home Economics in 1953. She had been a “Girl in White” for Providence Gas and a Home Economics Teacher, having worked in the Plymouth, MA and Smithfield, RI School Systems.
Mrs. Bedard had a home-based wedding cake decorating business and was an accomplished arts and crafts artisan and seamstress. Mrs. Bedard was a communicant of St. Philip Church, a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and a tireless and devoted volunteer at St. Anthony House in Providence. She spent much of her life aiding those in need serving her community.She was a devoted and loving mother to four children, Norman A. Bedard of Johnston, Paul C. Bedard of Warren, Elise M. Bedard and Amy C. Bedard both of Greenville, and two granddaughters, Heather and Alyssa. She was the sister of the late Marguerite O’Mara and Elise Scullian. She was loved and admired by all who knew her, and touched the lives of many through her good works and joyful spirit.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 8:30am from the *ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery, East Douglas, MA. Visitation Tuesday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to St. Anthony House, 252 Rhodes St. Providence, RI 02905
