Mr. Joseph R. Morris, of Taunton, died Saturday, July 30 in Morton Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Diane J. (Chase) Morris. He was born 72 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Joseph and Lillian (Lehouillier) Morris. He was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, Joseph had been employed in Environmental Services at Reed and Barton Silversmiths for 30 years. He was previously employed at the former Poole Silver Company for 15 years. He enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, and working in his yard. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton.
In addition to his wife, he leaves: 1 daughter: Lori Ann Rutherford and her husband, William of E. Taunton; 1 son: Joseph W. Morris of Taunton; 1 brother: Paul Morris of No. Carolina; and 2 grandchildren: William and Matthew Rutherford.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Wednesday, August 3 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
