
ANNA PERKINS
WESTERLY- Anna M. (Algiere) Perkins, 84, of 25 Clark Street, merchants Village, Westerly, died Friday evening at the Westerly Hospital. She was born in Charlestown, RI on November 4, 1920 the daughter of Antonio and Concetta (Luzzo) Algiere.
She was the wife of Floyd T. Perkins who she married in Westerly on February 16, 1946. Mr. Perkins died June 22, 1967. A longtime former resident of Old Mystic, she was employed at American Velvet Co. for over 23 years before her retirement in 1982. After her retirement, she made her home at Merchants Village until moving to the Clipper Home two years ago where she was constantly surrounded and loved by her family, friends and her caregivers. She was a familiar sight there taking part in Bingo and table bowling as well as delivering the daily paper and mail to all the residents.
She took great pride and joy in her family, especially spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and traveling with her sisters Len and Angie and her grandchildren. Most recently, she was a member of the Red Hat Ladies Society.
She is survived by a daughters and sons-in-law, Judy A. and Charles R. Greene Jr. of Westerly and Diane L. and Vincent Korytkowski of Westerly; her grandchildren, David Greene and Pennie Roberts of N. Stonington, Paul and Stephanne Greene of Preston, Melissa Marra of Westerly, Sarah Algieri and her husband Louis of Ashaway; her great-grandchildren, Jacob Marra, Kirby, Kaelan, and Nolan Greene; a brother, James Algiere of Bradford, a sister, Julia Bronejko of CA; her sisters in law, Minnie Algiere and Eileen Algiere of Westerly, and a brother in law, Quento Panciera of Old Mystic., nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, Mary Capalbo, Lena Capalbo, Angelina Martinez, Rose Pucci, Florence Bursell, Joe Algiere and John Algiere.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted at Elm Grove Cemetery, Rte. 27, Mystic on Tuesday at 11am. There will be no procession from the funeral home and there are no visiting hours. Donations in her memory may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation, 1501 N.W. 9th Ave., Miami, Fla. 33136. The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic is assisting the family.
