KATHRYN DUSTIN
MYSTIC- Kathryn “Katie” Tsouprake Dustin, 89, of 139 Hewitt Road, Mystic, died Saturday morning at Mystic Manor with her family at her side.
Mrs. Dustin was born in New Bedford in 1915 one of seven children to Charles and Irene(Laoutsacos) Tsouprake. She was married to Robert W. Dustin in Jacksonville Florida in May, 1945. Mr. Dustin died in 1968.
She was employed as a technical aide at Electric Boat for over 20 years before retiring in 1985. Known for her love of life and family, she was also an avid reader and traveler. She was a member of the Mystic Women’s Club, the Mystic & Noank Library, Mystic Aquarium, and had served as a volunteer of voter polling for the Town of Stonington voter.
She is survived by her three children, Patricia Dustin of Stonington, Gale Lucy of Fla., and William Dustin of S. Carolina; her siblings, George Tsouprake of Ottawa, Ted E. Tsouprake of Miami, and Peter Tsouprake of MA; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her siblings, Ann Acksen, Mac Tsouprake, and Charles Tsouprake.
Her family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Thursday from 6-8pm. A Funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 11am with burial following at Elm Grove Cemetery. The family is accepting floral tributes to help celebrate Katie’s life.
