TEWKSBURY Beatrice M. “Millie” (Sheppard-Newton) Hart, age 73, a former data clerk for
Market Basket, died Friday, July 22, at the Blairehouse of Tewksbury, after a long period of
declining health. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Newton, and later the late John H. Hart.
She was born in Cambridge, on October 26, 1931, a daughter of the late Albert and Beatrice
(Mercer) Sheppard. She lived in Tewksbury the greater part of her life, and was most recently a
member of the Carnation Drive senior community.
She was a former employee of Sweetheart Plastics in Wilmington, and later, retired from
DeMoulas/Market Basket headquarters, where she worked in the data entry department.
She was a member of the Pawtucket Congregational Church in Lowell.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Marvin Osborne of Oberlin, Ohio; a son
and daughter-in-law, Al and Eileen (Marsh) Newton of Tewksbury; her step-daughter, Carol Walton and her husband Lynn of Ohio; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jean
Lambert of Tewksbury, and Mary “Tina” Bryant and her husband Chet of Farmington, NH; nine
grandchildren, Sonia, Joseph, Jennifer, and Mary Newton, Kimberly Bauder, Barbara Van
Schoor, Danielle Prevett, Heather Aksamit, and Carrie Osborne; seven great grandchildren,
Michael, Kaila, Curtis, Robert, Ashley, Tyler, and Lindsay; and many friends and care givers at
the Blairehouse of Tewksbury.
She was also step-mother to the late John "Jack" Hart.
Her Funeral Service was held Tuesday, July 26, in the funeral home. Interment was in Tewksbury
Cemetery. Memorials to the Pawtucket Congregational Church, 15 Mammoth Rd., Lowell, MA
