Mr. Paul R. Ouellette, of Taunton, died Wednesday, July 20 in Marian Manor following a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Geraldine (Souza) Ouellette and the late Rosalie “Rusty” (Harpest) Ouellette. He was born 95 years ago in No. Dighton, the son of the late Joseph T. and Eugenia M. (Gilbert) Ouellette. Paul was educated in Taunton and had been a city resident for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a Master Silversmith for Reed and Barton Silversmiths for 43 years. Following his retirement, Paul worked at the A & P Supermarket in Pocasset, and at Trucchi’s Supermarket on Tremont Street in Taunton, retiring well after his 90th birthday. He was a member and Past President of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He enjoyed playing golf, cooking and spending time with his family. He was a communicant of the former St. Jacques Parish in Taunton.
He leaves: 1 daughter: Deborah Garnett and her husband, Gil of Bridgewater; 1 stepson: Carl Correia of Marion; 1 stepdaughter: Bonnie Bowers of Maine; a son-in-law: James Poirier of Taunton; 5 grandchildren: Abel Poirier and his wife, Sandra of Taunton, Zerin Poirier of Taunton, Gideon Poirier-Ernst and his husband, Stefan Ernst of Amsterdam, Holland, Andrew Kenealy and his wife, Lianne Heywood-Kenealy of Salem, and Megan Kenealy and her husband, Sean Fahey of Raynham; 5 great grandchildren: Autumn Poirier-Bosque, Tanner Poirier, Andrew Fahey, Cormac Fahey, Ronan Kenealy and several nieces and nephews. Paul was also the father of the late Cheryl Ann Poirier of Taunton.
Funeral services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted.
