Piatt, Cynthia “Tootie” 79, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Shelbyville and former member of Valley View Church. She touched children’s lives as an educator for JCPS and Shelby County Schools.
She is preceded in death by Martin Luther Van Tilburg and many dear family members.
She is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Rodger Piatt, Sr.; children, Vicki Stevens (Steve), Steven VanTilburg (Lillian ), Mark VanTilburg (Todd), Gwan Cox (Michael) Genene Nisbet (Michael) and Daniel Piatt, Jr.; brother George Vineyard; sisters Mary Helen Whitlow and Bobby Arnold and 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Owen Funeral Home-Jeffersontown 9318 Taylorsville Rd and funeral service will be Monday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with a private burial. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Hosparus.
