Jennie Metta, age 99, of Milford, formerly of Brockton and Abington, died peacefully July 19, 2016 at the Blaire House of Milford. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Nicola and Maria (DeFelice) Metta. For over 40 years she served in various capacities and many places working for the government. She enjoyed travel, Bingo, playing cards, especially Whist, and was the former Activities Director for Residents while living in Abington.
Jennie is survived by her daughter Marianne Griffin and her husband James of Millville, MA; two grandchildren Ryan Griffin and Jennifer Maclone; and two great grandchildren Brenner and Easton Maclone. She was the sister of Josephine Jackson and Fontaine Metta both of Brockton, Sabino Metta of Florida, and the late Michael Metta, Marie Shumway, William Metta, Lucy Cerro, Helen Cappiello and Frank Metta. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday 10-11am followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 11:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
