Harold E. “Buzz” Murtagh died on July, 13, 2016 at the age of 91. He was the beloved husband of Priscilla H. (Smith) Murtagh for 66 years.
Born in St. John, N. B. Canada, the son of Edward and Catherine (Delaney) Murtagh, he came to the United States at the age of 2. During World War II, Harold served in the US Army Air Corps for 3 years in China, Burma and India, serving with the Aviation Engineers.
For 40 years, Harold worked for the Framingham National Bank, Shawmut Bank and Fleet Bank. In 1989, he retired as Assistant Vice President.
Besides his wife, he leaves sons Robert and his companion Louise O’Connor of Clinton, Michael and wife Sue of Florida, Daniel and wife Elaine of Lawrence, Thomas of Framingham and daughter Mary Murtagh-Jacobs of Framingham. Harold was the father of the late Carl W. Murtagh who died in 1999, and brother of the late John, Robert and Francis Murtagh and Mary T. Vaillencourt. Harold is survived by many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral on Tuesday, July 26th at 10:00 A.M. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stephens Church, Framingham at 11:00 A.M.
Visiting hours are Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
