Obituary

WEBSTER – Virginia C. (LaChance) Mangan, 83, died Friday, July 8, 2016 in the Life Care Center of Auburn after a period of declining health. Her husband of 47 years, Michael F. “Mickey” Mangan, died in 2005.

She leaves 2 nephews, Albert Pizzetti of Webster and James Hencinski of Duluth, MN; 2 nieces, Dianne Shackelford of LaQuinta, CA and Jane Herrion of Dudley; and a great-nephew, Christopher Herrion of Dudley. Her sister, Lorraine Pizzetti, died in 2006.

She was born in Webster, the daughter of Theodore A. and Frances D. (Christopher) LaChance and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1951.

Mrs. Mangan first worked at several area businesses. She then was the parking clerk for the Town of
Webster for 18 years, retiring in 2006 due to illness.
She was a member of Saint Louis Church and the Saint Louis League of Catholic Women. She was a former longtime member of the Webster-Dudley Golf Club. She enjoyed bowling, trips to the casino and playing cards.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, July 26, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dudley. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, July 25, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to New England Hospice, 190 Old Derby St., Suite 304, Hingham, MA 02043.
