Charles Arthur Perry, 83, of Tifton passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Golden Living Center in Tifton. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2016, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Herman Walker officiating. Mr. Perry will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 17, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Glenn Stokes, Tony Downs, Barry Downs, Destin Deal, Richard Deal and David Deal will serve as pallbearers.
Born January 23, 1933 in Berrien County, Mr. Perry was the son of the late William Wesley Perry and Sinnie Mae Perry. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Downs Perry; and a daughter, Deletha Jones. He retired from Avondale Mills and was a member of Carpenter Road Church of God in Tifton. He enjoyed playing golf.
Mr. Perry is survived by his children, Charles Wesley Perry of Lakeland and Wanda Sue Perry Whitlock of Tifton; his step-children and their spouses, Willie John and Diane Deal and David and Betty Deal, all of Tifton and Mary and Glenn Stokes of Fitzgerald; a brother, Mack Perry of Wray; two sisters, Juanita Golden of Lenox and Genell Clements of Dixie; three grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
