Paul A. Coonan 81, of 1 Mavrick Dr. Ext. died Monday (May 20) at his daughter's home in Shrewsbury after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 25 years, Marjorie G. (Williams) Coonan, three sons, Michael J. Coonan of Connecticut, Brian J. Coonan of Seattle, WA, and Jospeh J. Kwiatkowski of Brookfield, two daughters, Marjorie C. Habib and Linda Fegreus both of Shrewsbury, a brother, Edmund Coonan of New York, two sisters, Mary Beckwith of Worcester and Eva Ostrolokevich, of California, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. He was born in Rochdale son of Edmund and Evonne (Bergeron) Coonan and lived there must of his life. He graduated from Leicester High School.

He was the head teller for Worcester County National Bank and the Guarantee Bank for several years retiring in 1975.

He was a US Army Veteran of WW II after the war he served 23 years in the US Air Force and 7 years in the US Air Force Reserve.

He was a member of Saint Mary's Church in Brookfield and a member of the Spencer American Legion Post#138.

A Military Funeral will be held Thursday (May23) from Fay Brothers Funeral Home (www.faybrothers.com) 9 Hammond St. Worcester with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. John's Church 40 Temple St. Worcester. Burial will be in Saint John's Cemetery Worcester. Calling Hours are Wednesday (May22) from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Saint John's Church 40 Temple St. Worcester 01604.
