Edward M. “Eddie” Pinnetti 85, of Bridgewater formerly of Brockton died July 7, 2016 in Brockton Hospital/Signature Healthcare. He was born in Brockton where he spent his life until moving to Bridgewater approximately 12 years ago. Eddie was the son of the late Pasquale and Rose (Orlando) Pinnetti.
Eddie proudly served his country in the 19th Infantry Regiment of the US Army during the Korean Conflict; he received a Combat Infantry Badge, The Korean Service Medal with 5 Bronze Stars, Presidential Unit Citation, United Nation Service Medal, Distinguished Unit Emblem and a Purple Heart.
He made his career for more than 30 years as an Ingredient Control Manager for the Brockton VA Hospital where he retired from in 1986. Following retirement and wanting to stay active, he worked for several years part-time for Cirelli’s Foods in Brockton. He was simply known as “Eddie Pinnetti” by many, “Boardwalk Eddie” by friends at Nantasket Beach and “Papa” with the dark tan by his friends in Maine while visiting his daughter and family. Eddie has spent his winters in Lauderdale by the Sea since 2004 enjoying the beautiful Florida sunshine. He was a member of the Bertocci, Enterprise, and Italian-American Veterans Clubs and the Whitman VFW. He will be remembered not only for his tan, but also for his social and loving nature; making friends where ever he went. Eddie’s top priority was always his family. He would always say “It’s not goodbye, it is I’ll see you later.”
Eddie was the husband to the late Patricia A. (Lynch) Pinnetti, and is survived by his children; Debra DiSalle and her husband Bob of Plymouth, Edward Pinnetti Jr. of NY, Susan Pinnetti- Isabel and her husband Rich of ME and Lisa Kominsky and her husband Kevin of Bridgewater; his sisters, Marie Merolli of ME and Anna Goodin of W. Bridgewater and his 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by 3 grandchildren Cpl Aaron M. Pinnetti, USMC, Danielle Pinnetti-Isabel and Ronzo Smith and by 8 brothers.
Visiting hours will be Friday 4-7pm in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte. 123) Brockton. A funeral procession will form at the funeral home Saturday at 9:30am for a funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
