Eugene “Gino” Maddamma, 80, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Pruitt Health in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at St. Williams Catholic Church in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Deacon Ed Drexler officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30, Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Maddamma was born September 5, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Rosario & Anna D’Annunzio Maddamma. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was foreman and groundskeeper for All Saints Cemetery. He moved to the community in 1999. An avid bowler, he enjoyed playing golf and attending the American Legion meetings in Fitzgerald. He was a member of St Williams Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Carol Lynn Maddamma of Irwin County; a daughter, Gaylene Drewek of Orlando, Florida; son and daughter-in-law, John & Cindy Probert of Irwin County; grandchildren: Dawnelle Sarocy, Audra Drewek, and Kristen Probert; a great-grandson, Slade Sarocy; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom & Jo Ann Maddamma of Cleveland, Ohio and Bobby & Barb Maddamma of Medina, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Florance Maddamma.
