Obituary

MILLBURY-Albert C. Gallagher, 79, of Millbury died Tuesday, July 19th after a series of complications following open heart surgery. His wife was the late Catherine P. (Lyons) Gallagher. He leaves 2 sons; Robert and his wife Rebecca Gallagher of Worcester, Michael and his wife Gina Gallagher of Marlborough, 2 daughters; Patricia wife of Anthony Genatossio of Auburn, Cathleen wife of Robert Burokas of Millbury, a sister; Frances G. Takala of Yarmouth Port, 9 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A brother James Gallagher predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of James and Annie M. (Sandberg) Gallagher and was a graduate of Commerce High School, and served in WWII as a Navy veteran in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theatres, he also served in the Marines in the Philippines. Mr. Gallagher worked as a production scheduler for Johnson Steel and Wire for 30 years before retiring. Previously he worked for Greendale Package Store for 20 years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Auburn and was an avid reader and New England Patriots Fan.

The funeral is Friday, July 22nd, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 189 Oxford Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, July 21st, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Please omit flowers and make memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O.
