BELMONT - Maxwell A. Perkins Jr., 86, of Belmont, died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Concord Hospital.
He was born on September 15, 1929 in Littleton, NH, the son of the late Maxwell A. Sr. and Margaret (Connor) Perkins. Maxwell served in the United States Marine Corps and in the Army National Guard during both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He worked as a service manager and a salesperson for Irwin Motors for a number of years. Maxwell was a member of both the American Legion - Wilkins-Smith Post #1 and the VFW Post #1670 in Laconia as well as the Marine Corps League. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and the Mayflower Society.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Julia (Christie) Perkins of Belmont, one son, Mark A. Perkins of Laconia, five daughters; Margaret E. Jones and her husband Albert of Orangeburg, SC, Katharine A. Dyer and her husband James of Belmont, Deborah J. Kaczynski and her husband Thomas of Rochester, Betsy J. Carignan and her husband Roger of Edgewater, FL and Patricia A. Birch and her husband Stephen of Concord, two sisters; Elizabeth Stone of Jamestown, CA and Priscilla Gavoor of NJ, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great- great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
A private graveside service will be held at the Saint Rose of Lima Cemetery in Littleton.
