Worcester – Walter Cote, 83, of Edlin St. formerly of Auburn died on Sunday July 17 in St. Vincent Hospital.
He leaves his wife Dorothy (LeDuc) Cote; a son Walter “Skip” Cote Jr. husband of Ruth of Charlton; three brothers Armand Cote of North Brookfield, Robert Cote of Charlton and Earl Cote of Oxford; four sisters Viola Allard of Worcester, Edna Kirston of Oxford; Doris Moore and Eunice Lussier both of Auburn; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Cote was predeceased by his first wife Alice M. (McNamara) Cote and also by three brothers. He was born in Oxford son of Frederick and Evelyn (Rivers)Cote.
Mr. Cote is a veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII on the USS Santa Fe. He was a member of Saint Andrew the Apostle Church. He enjoyed traveling and paddle boating. He was a truck driver for 20 years working for GE Telecron and Wagner Brothers at Norton’s Co. before retiring.
The funeral will be held on Thursday July 21 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond St. with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Andrew the Apostle Church 5 Spaulding St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Wednesday July 20 from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew the Apostle Church 16 Vineyard St. Worcester, MA 01603.
