Mr. John DePrizio, age 86, died Sunday evening, July 17, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital of Medford after a lengthy illness. Born in Somerville, MA, John was a lifelong Medford resident. He was the son of the late Concetta (Tirella) & Soccorso DePrizio.
John worked for over 40 years at a Serta Mattress Factory. He retired in 1970. John enjoyed spending most days at the Somerville Senior Cross St. Elderly Center. He was a very active member and most enjoyed the bingo and bowling nights. There was one trip he never missed with the center, and that was the trip to Foxwood Casino in Connecticut. John also enjoyed watching the World Champion Boston Red Sox.
John is survived by his beloved sister Elena Szymanski of Medford and the late Anthony DePrizio, Mary Yannizzi, Frank DePrizio and Evelyn Colontonio. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 5 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
