Mrs. Lucy Cianci, age 92, died Sunday morning, July 17, at the Winchester Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Italy she was the daughter of the late Lucia (Vasques) & Joseph Cianci. Lucy has been a Medford resident for the last 62 years, formerly of the North End of Boston.Lucy worked for many years as a Fancy Stitcher in local shoe companies. She worked for Narjoes Shoe Company of Somerville and the Fenton Shoe Company of Cambridge before retiring in 1960. She performed the difficult task of stitching the fancy designs on all kinds of shoes. In her spare time Lucy liked to cook meals for her family and friends, sew, and she most enjoyed playing cards. Lucy was also a late member of the Womens Canicatini Bagni Social Club.
Lucy was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Cianci. Devoted mother of Loretta Censullo of Medford, Diane Cecere and her companion Daniel MacGilvary of Woburn, Josephine Gelormini and her husband Joseph of Medford and the late Concetta Cetrullo. Also survived by 12 loving grandchildren, 14 loving great grandchildren and 1 loving great great grandson. Sister of the late Emanual, Frank, Thomas and Salvatore Cianci.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 516 High St., Medford at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
