CHICOPEE – Francis J. “Frank” Pronovost, Jr., 65, a longtime resident of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, June 18, 2016. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on February 19, 1951, a beloved son of the late Francis J. Pronovost, Sr. and Mary T. (Saunders) Pronovost. He was raised in Holyoke and graduated in 1969 from Holyoke High School. He lived in Holyoke for many years before moving to Chicopee in 1975. He began his employment in 1972 as a Molder at the former A.G. Spalding Company which later became Top Flight and is now Callaway Golf in the Willimansett section of Chicopee. He was a longtime faithful communicant until the closing of his beloved Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett. He served his parish as a Eucharistic Minister, an Usher, a Greeter, a longtime Bingo Coordinator, a member of the Parish Council and a Senior Altar Server. He was a member and Past President of the League of the Sacred Heart and was a two-time recipient of their Medal of Honor. Following the closing of the parish, he became a faithful communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. Most of all, he was a loving man who adored his family and showered them with his love and affection which was returned to him a thousand fold. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Denise A. (Labonte) Pronovost. They were married on May 9, 1975 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett and were blessed with over 41 years of happiness together. He also leaves his two loving daughters, Karen M. Ruffner and her husband, James, of Chicopee and Andrea S. King and her husband, Jonathan, of Enfield; his cherished grandson whom he adored, Nathan W. King of Enfield; his dear sister, Susan Pronovost of Chicopee; his three dear brothers-in-law, Donald F. Labonte and his wife, Mary, Paul H. Labonte and his wife, Trina, and David A. Labonte and his wife, Heather; his dear sister-in-law, Anne M. Wierciszewski and her husband, John; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends and extended members of the Pronovost and Labonte families. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his loving father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry F. Labonte who was Called Home on August 31, 2000 and Jeannette Y. (Archambault) Labonte who was Called Home on February 25, 2016. His funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, June 22, 2016 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
