Augusta, GA---Mr. Fred Pinion, 84, entered into rest on Friday, June 17, 2016 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in the Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Reverend Rich Bowen officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mr. Pinion was a native of Augusta, Georgia, born December 13, 1931. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Pinion will be remembered as a soft spoken, kind hearted man and as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Jeanette Nicholson Pinion.
Survivors include four sons, Steven F. Pinion of North Augusta, SC, Ronnie L. Pinion and wife Toni of Martinez, GA, Barry Pinion and Eddie Pinion, both of Augusta, GA, two daughters, Christy Pinion Hall of Augusta, GA and Marianne Pinion Ford and husband Frank of Tallahassee, FL, step-sister, Brenda Pinion Zepp of Martinez, GA, eight grandchildren, Joshua Pinion, Evan Pinion, Trevor Pinion, Jason Pinion, Stephanie Pinion, Kayla Pinion, Kole Richardson and Nate Ford and two great grandchildren, Waylon Pinion and Gavin Gilbert.
Pallbearers will be Jason Pinion, Evan Pinion, Trevor Pinion, Kole Richardson, Tony Nicholson and Thomas Harkens.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
